ABOUT THE SHOW

Romeo & Juliet is a Senior Capstone Project in Theatre conceptualized and executed by Ohio Wesleyan University students' Pedro Figueiredo (Director) and Kaya Ferrell (Juliet). Using the same text written by William Shakespeare, with arrangements, the show explores youth, love, and fatalism. This is a memory play that combines film and staged scenes, as we follow the memories of the characters through old photographs and videos. The story of Romeo and Juliet has been told through centuries, and this production focuses on the aftermath of the story, where the dead try to overcome fate, and where memory is the only way of fighting a never-ending cycle of hate.
